Dear Tennis Enthusiast
Issue 23, May 2008
THE FOOTWORK ISSUE
Rafa and Novak continue to press for Roger's throne. Although Federer maintain a healthy lead in the rankings - Nadal and Djokovic lead the annual "ATP Race" - are we looking at a change at the top of the rankings for the 1st time since January 2004. The French Open will be a critical tournament - with Nadal and Federer defending a lot of points.
The two challengers remind us of the incredible demands of the modern game. In the past players have either been classified as small and fast (Hewitt, Chang) or big and powerful (Becker, Sampras). Nadal and Djokovic are both tremendously big and powerful (185 cm + and 80 kgs +) ; and remarkably fast and agile.
Our newsletter this month focus' on footwork and agility to help students reach the standards set by the top pro's.
In this month's Footwork issue read about...
- The key coaching aspects of footwork and movement;
- How to improve your on court agility;
- Lesson plans for incorporating footwork into your beginner, intermediate and squad training; and
- A preview of the upcoming French Open
Enjoy!!!
We hope you enjoy the newsletter and please keep the feedback coming in, we want to hear what you think of the web site and what you would like to see more of. Send feedback to admin@globalsportscoaching.com

French Open Tennis 2008 Preview
By David Horne
This years French Open will once again begin on a Sunday. May 25th is the start date and the schedule should see some top early matches on the two show courts of Philippe Chatrier and Suzanne Lenglen courts.The French Open is always exciting to watch due to the fact that it allows many of the clay court specialists to excel and can often provide a challenge for many of the top ten players who struggle on the dirt. The question that most are asking is will Federer be able to win the French Open or will he follow the same path as a former great in Sampras who was unable to win the French Open. The title of being the greatest of all time surely can only be given to a player who has excelled in all four majors. .......Click Here to Read the Preview of the French Open 2008 >>>>
